About the Authors
Lynn Hovde swam competitively from age seven through college and at the Master level. In college, she competed in synchronized swimming for the University of New Hampshire, and also captained the synchronized swimming team at Central Connecticut State University. She started coaching synchronized swimming in 1972, and coached teams in Connecticut, California, and Washington before retiring in 2010. When she retired, she held Level 3 USA coaching and judging certifications. She currently runs her own swim school in Port Ludlow, Washington; is a American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Instructor Trainer; a Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor Trainer; and a CPR/First Aid Instructor.
Nancy Speser swam for the State University of New York at Oneonta synchronized swimming team from 1975-1976. She swam a duet at U.S. Masters Nationals with co-author Lynn Hovde in 2004 and 2008. Nancy earned her USA synchronized swimming coaching and judging certification in Levels 1 and 2 after moving to Port Townsend, Washington in 1990.
About the Photographer
Richard Wille is a photographer, avid swimmer, and scuba diver. His photography includes landscapes, sports, environment and conservation, editorial, specialty greeting cards, and stock photography. He holds a Masters in Fine Arts degree in photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
